Deputy Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Anthony Boateng says all final year students who have misconducted themselves during this year’s WASSCE will be dealt with.

Some final year students have rioted because they claim invigilation is too strict.

Also, other students who vandalised school properties claim the questions were difficult to solve and they were deceived by their teachers who gave them some past questions prior to the exam.

Mr Boateng speaking on Joy News says these past questions were only to guide the students and not a panacea to cheat.

“It is a very ridiculous expectation from these students that because they were given past questions to study as a guide they were expecting them in the main exam so once it was not there then they have been deceived. There are rules and regulations in exams and all the students who have gone beyond that will be dealt with. If any student thinks because of free SHS they will be allowed to cheat then they will be disappointed”.

Final year students of Kumawu based Tweneboa Koduah Senior High School in the Ashanti region went on a rampage and destroyed the school’s dining hall to register their displeasure at the Integrated Science exam in the ongoing WASSCE.

The candidates were unhappy about how difficult they claimed the questions were, and they did not get any help from their teachers, so they decided to vent their anger on the school’s dining hall.

There is another video where a final year student threatened President Akufo-Addo and hurled insults at him.
