The Electoral Commission (EC) will today Saturday, July 18 conduct a mop-up registration in all Senior High Schools (SHSs) without registration centres.
The exercise will afford eligible students who could not register in the EC’s two day-registration exercises for SHSs, the opportunity to do so.
“In keeping with its promise, the EC has arranged to do a mop-up registration in all SHS/TVETS without registration centres across the country,” GES in a statement said.
“Management of GES wishes to once again remind the general public especially political party representatives who will be assigned by their parties to observe the process on the various campuses, that the schools should not be used as a place for partisan politicking.”
The GES has also urged persons who will partake in the exercise to comply with the COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
The National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Henry Nana Boakye aka Nana B came under heavy criticism after he visited some SHSs in the Ashanti region to campaign.
Political parties were allowed to monitor the registration on the various campuses but he took the opportunity to speak to the students which most Ghanaians did not agree with.
But Nana B said he did nothing wrong.
