The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced that there will be no registration exercise on Friday, July 31, 2020.
This is to make way for the commemoration of the Eid al-Adha festival by the Muslim community in Ghana.
Friday has also been declared a public holiday and this will mean workers in Ghana will be having a break.
“The public is hereby informed that the Commission will not undertake the Voters Registration Exercise on Friday the 31st of July, 2020.”
The EC will resume with the Voter Registration Exercise On Saturday, August 1, 2020.
The EC on Monday also announced that they will embark on a mop-up exercise upon reports by their offices.
Chair of the EC Jean Mensa said this will be done at only selected places and it will not be a nationwide exercise.
