Minister for Health Kwaku Agyemang-Manu says it is about time Ghanaians change their lifestyle to help prevent them from contracting the deadly COVID-19.
The Minister who addressed a press briefing today May 5, 2020, charged all Ghanaians to adhere to all safety protocols and adopt a new lifestyle because he believes the virus would live with us for a long time.
He called on all Ghanaians to wear the nose mask and practice all safety protocols regularly as that has become the new way of life.
“What people must understand is the COVID-19 will be with us for a long time, we have to adapt and change our lifestyle, what we need to know is that our way of life is going to change and there is the need to get it, wearing the mask is going to be our new way of life. We must understand it. One of the ways to reduce the spread of coronavirus is through wearing the mask. I don’t know why people are not wearing the mask. Some have it but have decided not to wear it”.
The Minister also urged people to stay home if they have no essential business in town as it helps in reducing the spread of the virus.
“The disease has no legs but it moves from one person to the other. So please stay at home and help reduce the spread. Avoid group meetings, England likes football more than us but they have suspended all because of social distancing, let us all follow the protocols”.
Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have now reached 2,719 according to the latest update released by the Ghana Health Service on May 4,2020.
The total number of deaths is still 18 but recoveries have shot up to 294.
