The Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC) Nana Akomea has announced some safety protocols that every individual must observe before boarding an STC bus.

Passengers of state transport firm STC last week lamented over the decision by the company to load to capacity of their buses despite the social distancing directive by President Akufo-Addo.

The STC currently loads their buses only 60% full just to comply with the social distancing directive.

Nana Akomea, however, has announced that there are some protocols that every individual must follow before getting on board an STC bus.

These are the protocols for boarding STC buses:

  • Your temperature is checked
  • You wash your hands with the veronica buckets

Nana Akomea also said they will check for mandatory face mask but also said they have a mini clinic at the office to take care of their staff.

“We test the temperature of every passenger and also check for the wearing of the face mask which is key, we have an in house clinic at STC to take care of our staff and drivers”.

He also said they are doing everything possible to ensure that all passengers follow safety measures which in the long run ensure the rate of infection does not shoot up.

As of April 19, Ghana had recorded 1,154 COVID-19 cases with 120 recoveries and 9 deaths.
