The Central Regional Police Command is investigating the death of a 12-year-old boy who jumped from a three-storey building at Ayiko-Ayiko in Cape Coast.
The deceased according to the police tried to escape beatings from his father leading to him jumping from the storey-building.
Deputy Public Relations Officer of Central Regional Police Command Sgt Evans Isaac said they have arrested Lukman Alabi who is the father of the deceased to assist with investigations.
Stepmother of the deceased has also been arrested and assisting with investigations.
“Police proceeded to the scene and found the body of the boy in the pool of blood, the boy was carried to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.”
“Information gathered at the scene by the police revealed that the father who is Lukman Alabi was beating the boy and he attempted escaping and jumped from the storey-building and landed on the floor hence his death, the body of the boy has been sent to the Cape Coast morgue waiting for autopsy, the father Lukman Alabi and the stepmother are currently in police custody…
