Yonny Kulendi one of the four Supreme Court nominees says he has a solid relationship with President Akufo-Addo.
He explained that their relationship is so tight that he even has the President’s name as reference on his CV.
He was answering questions during his vetting by the appointments committee of parliament on May 12, 2020.
“I have a relationship with the President, and several other politicians and presidents. If the president had not nominated me because of the schedules and workings of his office, you would most certainly find his name on my CV. And I must be candid with that.
“But for me, judges must hold fidelity to the law and be true to your conscience and that ought to be my matrics I say consider this job. This job is that sacred to me,” he said.
President Akufo-Addo’s four Supreme Court Justice nominees are Justice Clemence Jackson Honyenuga, Justice Issifu Omoro Tanko Amadu, Mr. Emmanuel Yoni Kulendi and Prof. Henrietta J.A.N Mensa-Bonsu.
Supreme Court Justice nominee Prof. Henrietta J.A.N Mensa-Bonsu is expected to be vetted later today.

Yonny is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Ghana, Legon, with an LLB Honors. He completed his law degree at the Ghana School of Law, where he obtained a barrister of law degree and a solicitors certificate. He is a member of the Ghana Bar.
Yonny also holds an MA in international security and civil-military relations from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, USA. He is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-West Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
