A 21-year-old student of Oppong Memorial Senior High School at Kokofu in the Ashanti Region has reportedly been stabbed to death.
Richard Kofi Appiah was attacked by unknown assailants when he left the school for the town over the weekend.
Police in Bekwai have since commenced investigations into the death of a final year student of the Oppong Memorial Senior High School.
Reports say young Richard died shortly after he was rushed to the Bekwai Government Hospital.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Bekwai, Kwaku Kyei Baffour, has described the incident as disturbing.
He also urged police to quickly bring the perpetrators to book.
“I learned that the guy is a final year student who went to town around that time and this happened. It is unfortunate. If you know the terrain of the school, it is a very vast land. We need to encourage the students to stay on campus and be serious about their books,” he added.
Kofi’s mother, Florence Boahemaa, wants the police to ensure persons behind her son’s death to be brought to book.
